  • How to Afford Your Dream Safari – Creative Ideas That Work Part 3: Payment Plans

Dreaming of elephants at sunrise, giraffes in golden light, and the wide silence of the African plains—but wondering how to afford it? You’re not alone. Many people believe safaris are only for the wealthy or for “someday.” But let’s rewrite that story.

At Nunu’s Kenyan Safaris, we believe your dream deserves a plan, not a pause. We’ve seen firsthand how life-changing these journeys are—for both our guests and the communities and wildlife we support. So today, let’s talk about creative, practical sways to make your safari a reality—sooner than you think.

.When you book a safari on our website, you’ll see an option to finance your trip over time. You can choose a plan that works for your life and your budget—up to 18 months of payment

Available providers: Affirm, Afterpay, and Klarna
No extra forms to fill out—just choose your provider at checkout

Each provider determines its own rates and approvals based on your credit score and purchase amount. These companies are third-party payment processors, not affiliated with Nunu’s, so if you have questions about their terms, please reach out to them directly.

But we can tell you this: many of our guests have used these options and said yes to their safari dreams—without financial stress.

    Beyond Free Flights

There is a thing known as Travel hacking, do you do it?  It’s not illegal or a bad thing, it’s simply learning how to take full advantage of your frequent flyer and credit card programs.

I’ve been doing it for years and we almost always fly to Kenya for free! Not to mention all the free hotel stays.

It’s much too long to get into full details of all the programs here (but if people are interested maybe I do a little class about it?  Let me know…)

Here is the short lowdown on how to use them on a Nunu’s safari –

    1. Gather all your credit cards and frequent flyer programs and see where you are now, if you have AMEX, Capital One Venture, Chase Sapphire or Ink or many others, you may already have benes you didn’t know about (like free TSA PreCheck or Lounge access)

    2. Focus on just 1 or 2 programs at a time and put everything on the card, paying it off every month – I’m not trying to get anyone to go into debt for this. When you open a new card they typically have a sign-up bonus, that is often more than enough for airfare!

    3. Pay for your safari with the credit card- at once or in monthly payments, then, during the next billing cycle, they may offer points for the purchase that you can cash out or pay against your bill.

Of course you need to look at the specifics of each card, there are many websites and groups that will help you with it.

My goal is simply to let you know it’s possible that you can go on your dream trip!
